Jay Z‘s new streaming service, TIDAL, had an epic rollout Monday afternoon (Mar. 3o) at the James A. Farley Post Office building in New York. As one can imagine, comments on social media have been swirling in since the conclusion of the star-studded news conference and reactions have been mixed.

Just in case you’ve been buried under other activities today, the Brooklyn mogul’s music streaming service streaming app was announced earlier today. Jay’z purchase of the audio streaming service came with a whopping $56 million price tag but promises to be more than just another music site.

There are two tiers of service, TIDAL Premium for $9.99 and TIDAL HiFi for $19.99. As the names show, the more expensive TIDAL subscription is going to give you high-quality audio. Both subscriptions, which are boasting free trials over at the TIDAL site, will also give fans access to exclusive content, videos, b-roll, ticketing and more.

Big names are partnered up with TIDAL and supporting Jay Z, of course. Beyoncé, Kanye West, Rihanna, and others have tweeted their support of the new platform which also upped the news conference buzz. Several of the aforementioned stars and many others joined in with TIDAL by signing an artist’s contract to work with the company. In essence, it appears that recording artists are backing TIDAL in a bid to bolster their own stock.

Twitter is still going strong offering comments of all sorts ranging from snark to humor regarding the TIDAL event and even mocked the #TIDALforALL hashtag with a “#TIDALforNoOne” tag. This is in addition to the earlier slander we’ve reported on.

The conference can be peeped in full over at TIDAL’s home page.
