The jig is up for Rachel Dolezal. The white woman exposed for impersonating a Black woman has resigned from her position as head of the NAACP’s Spokane, Washington chapter.

“It is with complete allegiance to the cause of racial and social justice and the N.A.A.C.P. that I step aside from the presidency and pass the baton to my vice president, Naima Quarles-Burnley,” wrote Dolezal in a lengthy statement she posted on her Facebook page.

Despite the controversy surrounding her, Dolezal was crediting with uplifting the NAACP’s profile in Spokane, which she made sure to note.

She added, “It is my hope that by securing a beautiful office for the organization in the heart of downtown, bringing the local branch into financial compliance, catalyzing committees to do strategic work in the five Game Changer issues, launching community forums, putting the membership on a fast climb, and helping many individuals find the legal, financial and practical support needed to fight race-based discrimination, I have positioned the Spokane NAACP to buttress this transition.”

It was the raising of her profile that led to her parents dropping dime on her shenanigans.

Dolezal previously cancelled the chapter’s meeting previously schedule for today, where she was reportedly to address her lies and struggle.
