Short-Lived SNL Stretch

Following the departure of Eddie Murphy, Wayans took over as the African-American male lead on Saturday Night Live in 1986 but things didn’t go too smoothly, as he was fired after seven episodes. Apparently he wasn’t a “team player” and showed his defiance when he changed his Miami Vice character to a gay cop on the spot. He was also fired on the spot.
