On of Dr. Dre’s many Compton: A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre’s featured artists is taking the ball she was passed and running to the end zone with her opportunity.

Candice Pillay, whose previous credits include writing on Christina Aguilera’s “Lotus” and Rihanna’s dancehall hit “Cockiness” and Bruce Springsteen inspired “American Oxygen,” is shooting for the clouds with her new EP, The High. Over the course of five tracks, the South African beauty takes listeners through a journey of spacey pop (“Lost Without You”) weekend anthems (“Party 4 Da Low”).

Fans of Dre’s Compton album should already be familiar with her vocal talents as she appeared on the favored “Genocide” alongside Kendrick Lamar and Marsha Ambrosius and “Medicine Man” a.k.a. “Doctor’s Orders” with Eminem. Now that she is a signed artist, expect to see much more of her on the leading top.

Listen to Candice Pillay’s formal debut to the world via KIDinaKORNER/Interscope down below and purchase it on iTunes if you’re loving it.
