There aren’t many works of Hip-Hop privy to a diamond certification and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ 2012 breakout single, “Thrift Shop” has just joined the ranks of the exclusive club.

According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), “Thrift Shop” has become one of three songs certified diamond in the last three years. (The other two belonging to Eminem.)

The song was officially released as a single on October 8, 2012, a day before the duo’s studio debut album, The Heist and went on to achieve instantaneous success. It dominated the Billboard 100 six non-consecutive weeks and went on to become a catalyst for the Seattle artists to win the 2014 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.

The accompanying music video for “Thrift Shop” is also nearing a top-tier category as it approaches a billion views on YouTube.
