A 15-year-old girl has been charged in the murders of her mom, and her mother’s boyfriend. Destiny Garcia reportedly left the rotting bodies in the family apartment while she hit up Times Square for New Year’s Eve.

Rosie Sanchez, 38, and Anderson Nunez, 40, were found stabbed and shot to death inside the Sheepshead Bay apartment. Their identities were confirmed Monday (Jan. 4), but police say they were killed two days after Christmas.

Sanchez died from being shot in the ear. She was found sitting in a chair, while Nunez was stabbed to death and shot as well. His body was found on the living room floor.

According to the New York Daily News, Garcia switched up her murder story, originally claiming her mother was physically abusive. “We don’t believe this is at all, initially, an act of self defense. She went and got a gun from another individual that we’re trying to find right now, to commit the homicide,” said NYPD detective Robert Bryce.

She later said Nunez had abused her and Sanchez didn’t step in. Police say Garcia got the gun from a 15-year-old boy whom she lied to about being abused. The unidentified minor attends boarding school in upstate New York.

Garcia is being charged as an adult and has already been appointed a lawyer. She is likely to be indicted Friday (Jan. 8).
