Kendrick Lamar swept the Rap categories at last night’s Grammy Awards. Maybe more importantly, the Compton rapper absolutely tore down the stage during another memorable performance.
K-Dot performed To Pimp A Butterfly cuts including “The Blacker The Berry,” “Alright” and “Untitled 3.” A band rocking in jail cells, syncopated dancing and a passionate delivery are just a few of the elements that made this the highlight of the evening.
Lamar won the Best Rap Performance, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Album awards. However, he didn’t win Album of the Year, which went to Taylor Swift who used her acceptance speech to shade Kanye West.
