After a decade in the NBA, being a free agent has allowed Nate Robinson to step outside the box. For the next chapter in his athletic career Robinson is bypassing the basketball court, for the football field.

The 31-year-old former NBA point guard announced a plan to try out for the NFL. Robinson played football in college, but ultimately chose to play basketball professionally. He was drafted to the NBA in 2005 and has joined for several teams including the Knicks, Clippers, Warriors, Lakers, and Pelicans.

Robinson talks his new career journey in a Lead Sports video released yesterday (March 9). Though he hasn’t played football in 12 years, the Seattle native is motivated to get back in the game and he’s not worries about detractors. “If you don’t think I can do it, that doesn’t mean I can’t do it.”
