Desiigner has just netted his first number one hit on Billboard with his first single ever, “Panda.”

18-year old rapper Desiigner just pulled off something that neither Future or Drake has yet to do, have a single hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. What a time to be alive.

The song bumped Rihanna‘s single “Work” from the top of the Billboard 100 chart.

According to Billboard, Desiigner and his single are making history too. It’s the first song by an American artist to top the chart in 41 weeks. The 18-year old is also the youngest artist to top the chart since Chris Brown did it back in 2007. And he is the first first rapper to sit atop the Hot 100 with a debut chart entry since Iggy Azalea did it with “Fancy.” A solo male rapper hasn’t earned the No. 1 distinction with their first single since Wiz Khalifa’s “Black And Yellow.”

The Menace-produced track has been Hip-Hop’s biggest water cooler topic since it surfaced nationwide on Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo album back in February.

Initially, many listeners assumed that it was Future rapping on the track since Desiigner’s flow and voice sounds so similar to his. But it came out later that it was not Future at all.

Desiigner has already addressed his critics who say that he is biting Future by saying:

God gave him a blessing, but he gave me a blessing too. I ain’t gonna doubt the man’s music. He make beautiful music too. Music is made every day. Big ups to him, big ups to Future. I actually like Future’s music. I like his music, you feel me. I’m not a hater or a critic on him, you know, I do me. God bless him, God bless me.

The song only stands to gain even more momentum as a music video has yet to be released. Once an official video actually does drop, expect to see more “Pandamonium.”
