Snoop Dogg took to his always entertaining Instagam page to share his thoughts on the new Roots film that debuted on the History Channel recently. He didn’t watch it.Instead the outspoken rapper and filmmaker urged his followers to boycott Roots and other slave movies like it.

In the clip he can be heard saying:

I’m sick of this shit. How the f*ck are they going to put Roots on, on Memorial Day? They going to just to keep beating that sh*t into our heads about how they did us, huh?

I ain’t watching that shit, and I advise you motherf*ckers as real n*ggas like myself; fuck them television shows. Let’s create our own shit based on today, how we live and how we inspire people today. Black is what’s real. F*ck that old sh*t.

When it comes to movies, Snoop Dogg has definitely backed up his barks with some bites. If there is any rapper who can suggest that Black people “create our own sh*t,” it’s Snoop. His filmography is actually deeper than his discography as he has starred in or played in more than 40 films and documentaries.

Here is a look at some of best (and not so great) moments in film.
