Vado
Harlem rapper Vado was supposed to be on the 2011 XXL Freshman cover with Kendrick Lamar, Meek Mill, Big K.R.I.T., YG and few other names that went on to succeed but he wasn’t there. Why? Because his mentor Cam’Ron felt that XXL came knocking a year too late and chose to decline the offer. At the time Cam felt that Vado deserved a cover all by himself and that he was going to be on the front of an upcoming issue of The Source. That never happened and Vado hasn’t been on the cover of anything since.
