That’s it, that’s all? Former NFL player Darren Sharper was sentenced to 18 years in prison today (Aug. 18) for serial rape.
Sharper had struck a plea deal with prosecutors in which he would only serve 9 years — but a federal judge in Louisiana shut it down claiming it was too lenient for a such a terrible monster.
Thursday morning, Judge Jane Triche Milazzo ruled that an 18 year sentence was more appropriate for his heinous crimes.
Sources connected to the case tell us … Sharper is only expected to serve 85% of the 18 year sentence — and with time served, he’ll spend roughly the next 13 to 14 years in prison.
Sharper pled guilty to putting the drugs in the drinks of women and sexual abusing them while they were unconscious.
Sharper did this in at least four states (Louisiana, Arizona, California and Nevada). Does 18 years seem like enough time for you?
