Could Ben Affleck single handedly save the DC cinematic universe? The man who’s set to direct and star in the next Batman feature film sent the Internet into a frenzy when he released some test footage that seems to feature fan favorite villain Deathstroke. With all the negative reactions that both Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad got from both critics and fanboys alike, Ben seems hellbent on righting the ship that’s been capsizing all summer. Luckily for Ben, his portrayal as the Caped Crusader was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise mediocre set of pictures that make the brains behind Marvel cinematic universe look like demigods. Needless to say much is riding on the success of the upcoming Justice League films which will set up the standalone Ben Affleck helmed Batman films along with films for Wonder Woman, The Flash and the much anticipated sequel to Man Of Steel. But if this test footage (word is it’s Joe Manganiello) is any indication of what Ben has planned for his adventures as the Dark Knight, there’s a beacon of hope for comicbook fans and DC’s cinematic future.
