Andrew Wiggins, the 2015 NBA Rookie of the Year, has fine taste in music. The promising Minnesota Timberwolves star’s playlist before games includes tunes from Jadakiss, Styles P and DMX.

Y.O. stand up.

“Some days it be more smooth, some days it be more aggressive stuff,” Wiggins told Hip-Hop Wired at the launch of adidas Athletics in NYC. “When I really want to get into it I’ll listen to Styles P, Jadakiss and DMX.”

Yes, Drake also made the cut.

“If I’m in a good mood already then it can be something smooth,” said Wiggins. “I might listen to some Drake, maybe some AZ. If I’m not in a good mood, or we need to win this game, I’ve been playing bad, this is a big game for me…that’s when I put in that Styles P, that DMX.”

Besides Drizzy, another local on the T. Dot native’s playlist is Smoke Dawg.

He said, “Smoke Dawg is someone I know personally. He’s a big name out in Toronto. He’s a little bit younger than me but he’s getting it done. He’s working hard.”

Speaking of putting in work, Wiggins said he added more to his already well-rounded game this off-season (“Been working on my shooting a lot. My ball handling and trying to create different opportunities for me to get open).” However, despite being a high flyer, he’s cool on seeing his teammate Zach LaVine in the dunk contest.

“I definitely got the ups, but nah. It’s not really me,” said Wiggins on the prospect of entering the dunk contest. “I can do all the little trick dunks and stuff, but I like to keep it simple. In games, if I see someone in front of me, I’m going to try and dunk on them. I’m not showboating, but when I see someone, I’m going to try and dunk on them, though. I’m not there for all the extra stuff.”

Fellow players and head coaches in the NBA already know, this kid’s a problem.
