Nas appeared as a guest on Bill Simmon’s new HBO show Any Given Wednesday alongside Kevin Durant.

Of course the duo was asked about one-time and current rivals like Jay Z, Tupac, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook.

Nas in particular was asked what would have done to squash the Tupac and Biggie beef if he had it to do all over again.

“[I would’ve] told them about the impact that they were going to have, being dead,” says Nas. “That the the world was about to become a Hip-Hop planet, even more than it was in ’95. Global, more than it was then and they were the leaders and they were too important to us.”

He also talked about how ten years after he released his Hip Hop Is Dead album, that the genre is in a better place thanks to artists like Drake, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. Nas says the latter two reminds him of himself and inspires him to keep going.

When asked who the thought was the best rapping NBA player, he exclaimed, “Shaq!” Durant on the other hand gave a nod to Damien Lillard.
