Having the #1 song in the country comes with its benefits. Rae Sremmurd appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter to talk “Black Beatles” and the #MannequinChallenge that made it popular.

ESPN’s SportsCenter has been standing next to Hip-Hop culture for decades, shoutout to Stuart Scott. In their latest shot at some cool points, the show had rap duo Rae Sremmurd stop by the studio to talk about the takeoff success of their hit single “Black Beatles,” but mostly the #MannequinChallenge that will forever be linked to the song.

Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi kept it 100 and told the hosts where the viral phenomenon originally came from.

“I was going through Twitter and I seen a video of little high schoolers doing a Mannequin Challenge and I thought it was cool,” said Jxmmi bluntly. “I brought it to everybody and was like, ‘We’re gonna do one.’ We did our video to ‘Black Beatles’ and made the freshest video ever, and it just went crazy, dumb viral.”

The duo also talked about their favorite versions of the challenge so far and learned for the first time that First Lady Michelle Obama did one at the White House. They also predicted that the Dallas Cowboys were going to the Super Bowl and they were going to do #MannequinChallenge video with with quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliot.
