The Notorious B.I.G.’s (actually Puff Daddy’s) “Victory” is one of the late, great rapper’s most dynamic performances. So when Stevie J came through, we wanted to ask him about creating that masterpiece, instead of his reality show and real life drama

The Bad Boy Hitman’s eyes lit up when recalling putting the No Way Out standout together with Biggie Smalls and Jadakiss.

“I was listening to the Rocky soundtrack just to get some inspiration and I’m hearing these horns,” Stevie J told Hip-Hop Wired. “Big poked his head in and was like, ‘What’s that?’ I was like that’s it right there. He was like, ‘Yo, that’s it. Loop that up.'”

It took a few days to bring at all together.

He adds, “Big puts some rhymes on it. Jada wrote some rhymes on it. Then Puff laid the Jada rhymes on it. Then Busta came in and hyped it all up. That was a masterpiece right there.”

What, you ain’t know Jadakiss “ghostwrote” those bars?

Stevie also recalled linking up with Mariah Carey in the studio, too. Peep what else he had to say about cooking up tracks with BIG below.
