Kendrick Lamar is the latest celebrity to have their private thoughts about the Grammys go public.

Kendrick Lamar has been the golden child of the Grammys since his debut album Good Kid, Maad City dropped in 2012. That year he was nominated for five Grammys including Album of the Year, Best Rap Album and Best New Artist. But he walked away empty handed with Macklemore beating him in two of those categories. Macklemore, sensing the backlash and perceived racial bias behind his win, sent a text to Kendrick, and then posted it on Instagram.

Five years later, another Kendrick Lamar text has gone public, but for good reason. This time, it’s a congratulatory text he sent to this year’s Best New Artist, Chance The Rapper. Chance shared the exchange on Instagram.

Another one of Kendrick’s thoughts about the Grammys hit the web soon after. TDE President “Punch” hopped on Twitter to tell the world what Kendrick thought about Adele winning every award she was nominated for and beating Beyonce for Album of the Year in the process.

The last time we heard a rapper get mad enough to rap about the Grammys’ flawed system was when J. Cole called them out on “Firing Squad.” Will Kendrick hop in the booth and speak his mind?
