Timbaland’s $2 Million Watch Stolen, Evaluated For Suicide Watch

Virginia bred producer Timbaland was the subject of a manhunt Tuesday (August 24) after  his family feared he may be subject to taking his own life.

According to TMZ, Timbaland’s family believed he was so distraught over the theft of a $2 million piece of jewelry that he might harm himself, so they notified law enforcement.

According to reports, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department put out a “possible suicide attempt” APB just before 5 PM PT yesterday.  A helicopter and squad cars went on the hunt for the rapper/producer’s Escalade.

Sources told TMZ that the frantic search began after Timbaland called his brother-in-law reportedly upset over a break-in at his Malibu home.

During the theft, the thief was able to walk away with a $2 million Jacob & Co. watch, among other items and to make matters worse, Tim suspects that he may know the perpetrator.

According to police reports, Timbaland left his home yesterday and began driving.  Family members couldn’t locate him and  became extremely worried and called the Sheriff’s Department.

After using a helicopter to aid in the search, police located the Escalade and ground crews pulled Timbaland over and began talking to him.  After placing Timbaland in a patrol car, they escorted him to his residence, where they continued speaking with him and family members.

After deputies called for paramedics to come and evaluate Timbaland, it was determined that Timbaland was not a threat to himself at all and did not attempt to kill himself and left.

The Sheriff’s Department is however investigating the theft of Timbaland’s jewelry, and it is reported that they have found possible suspects.
