The Los Angeles Clippers enlisted Kendrick Lamar to narrate their tribute video to future NBA Hall Of Famer Paul Pierce.
Paul Pierce played his final NBA game a couple of weeks ago when the Los Angeles Clippers were eliminated from the playoffs by the Utah Jazz. It was the end of a season where Pierce essentially had a farewell tour with some cities and fans [but not all] showering him with applause when he entered and exited the games.
While Pierce is known as a Boston Celtic, he is a native of Los Angeles. So it was fitting that he spent his final NBA season with the Clippers. It’s also fitting that honored him with an online video featuring fellow Californian Kendrick Lamar.
In the minute-long video, you can hear Kendrick praise Pierce for putting L.A. on his back and representing it everywhere he went, no matter what team he played for.
“Life is not all about the wins and losses,” Kendrick said. “It’s also about how you affect people. Paul Pierce, you are The Truth.”
