80’s babies will continue to rejoice as Nintendo is getting back in on the retro release phenomenon. The brand recently announced that the Super Nintendo system will be making a comeback in the fall.

According to a tweet from Nintendo of America’s Twitter account, the much-beloved gaming console is coming with some upgrades. Renamed as the Super Nintendo Classic Edition, this bundle will include the gaming system, two controllers and more importantly 21 classic SNES games.

Considering the original 1991 release was only paired with Super Mario World, the Classic Edition edition is sure to be a hot item for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Confirmed titles include The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Mega Man X, Star Fox, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, Super Mario Kart and more.

Retro gaming has been trending in popularity due to readily available emulation programs that allow users to play these classic titles online. In 2016 Nintendo brought back the NES Classic and experienced impressive sales results. In 2017 they stopped production, causing the NES Classic to triple in value on the resale market.

The Super Nintendo Classic will be available September 29 with $80.00 dollars on the ticket.
