With the racial tensions in America being so high you would think that ESPN would be mindful about keeping all their programming PC. One of their latest segments left Odell Beckham Jr. speechless.

The sports television network dropped the ball during a recent fantasy football segment. The special featured a sketch where players were sold off to the highest bidder. The problem is the highlighted player was Black and mostly all the bidders where White.

As one of the premier wide receivers in the NFL, OBJ3 only snagged $34 dollars. Slave auction much?

When the skit was brought to the New York Giant all star he simply stated he was “speechless” via a Twitter post.

Naturally, this caused a viral uproar forcing ESPN to issue an apology. “Auction drafts are a common part of fantasy football, and ESPN’s segments replicated an auction draft with a diverse slate of top professional football players. Without that context, we understand the optics could be portrayed as offensive, and we apologize.” Below is the tone deaf clip in question.

Even newly crowned NBA champion Kevin Durant voiced his displeasure with the segment.

While auctions are staged for fantasy sports drafts this idea couldn’t have come at a worse time. Smarten up ESPN.
