Michael B. Jordan has been getting money in the gym for a long time. The actor recently shared his best fitness tips in collaboration with Nike.

In a mix of a magazine feature and product promotional effort, Jordan details getting teased at an early age because of his legendary name is what drove him to get in shape. “It made me work hard for sure. Watching Michael Jordan play was like poetry. I loved everything about it. You know, having a name like that, it gave me a healthy chip growing up” he explained.

Jordan also offers some suggestions on stay active with a purpose. “You only get one body, and you’ve got to take care of it as much as you can. And if you’re not in good shape, if you’re not mentally strong, if you’re not physically fit, being energized and getting through a busy day is going to be really tough.”

Additionally Jordan speaks to his never give up attitude which he incorporates during training and while filming. “Finish a set, finish a routine. You can’t just stop halfway through.” He adds “I can’t just stop in the middle of a take. I can’t just stop in the middle of a relationship. Quitting is something I try to never even let into my mind.”

The Creed star and Nike worked on a short film Grounded where he details his come up in Newark, New Jersey, having dreams of playing in the NBA and what comes with the fame.
