Russell Simmons just stepped down as the face and figurehead for his myriad number of companies amid accusations of sexual assault. The news sent shockwaves throughout social media, most especially on Twitter, with comments raging since Thursday (Nov. 30) morning.
Simmons, 60, catapulted to fame as the co-founder of Def Jam Recordings, and the CEO and founder of Rush Communications. The business and media mogul’s long-standing reputation as a culture maven aside, many have been taken aback by the recent allegations that have surfaced of Simmons’ abusing his power to gain an advantage over women.
