Bronx Teacher Miscarries After Student Kicks Her In Stomach
A pregnant New York City schoolteacher miscarried after she attempted to break up a fight between two students in a Bronx high school, according to a recent story ran by the New York Post.
Police are investigating the incident, which happened Wednesday at the Explorations Academy, a building that houses a middle school and a high school.
The teacher, who was four months pregnant, was kicked in the stomach by one of two fighting teens as she attempted to break up the melee.
It was unclear if he was aiming for her, the story reports. When the teacher fell to the ground from the kick, other students reportedly gathered around the assailant.
“Everyone else was just trying to break it up,” says a student. “They saw she fell against the floor. They pushed him [the assailant] up against a wall.”
She was rushed to an area hospital, where the miscarriage occurred.
It was not reported what type the charges the student could be facing.
