Christina Milian is the latest celebrity to grace the cover of Latina magazine and in it, the 29-year-old singer and actress speaks candidly on a number of topics including her failed marriage to The Dream and her journey through motherhood.
In the February issue, Milian says she tried to change herself to make her marriage last, but ultimately caved in and remained true to who she was.
“No matter what, you can’t change who you are. I know that now. I tried to be someone I wasn’t because I wanted my marriage to work. But ultimately, if it’s not working, it’s not working.”
She also adds that she had a gut instinct that “something was off” with The Dream before infamous pictures of him on he beach with his assistant surfaced.
“I didn’t know anything. But looking back, my gut was telling me something was off. But I thought I could fix it.”
In addition to speaking on The Dream, Christina talks about being a mother to their now 11-month old daughter Violet.
Milian say that motherhood makes her feel “sexier” and calls it the best thing that ever happened to her.
“Being a new mother definitely makes me feel so much sexier than ever before. There’s a certain responsibility that I carry being a mom that makes me feel very confident and so blessed. Being a mom is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
