In addition to preparing for the release of his Lasers album March 8, Lupe Fiasco is finding new ways to encourage Chicago youth.

The emcee’s Lupe Fiasco Foundation is set to host its first ever “Lupe Fiasco Foundation Launch Charitable Event” that will serve as its first introduction to the community, entertainment industry and world as it hopes to inspire Chi-Town youth.

On Thursday March 10th, 2011, 9pm-12am at The House of Blues Foundation Room (329 North Dearborn, Chicago, IL 60654), youth ages 10-24 will take part in several initiatives including The Little Man Project, The Youth Committee, Sensei Jaco Scholarship Fund and Off The Block.

The charitable event will host a silent auction with giveaways and gift certificates provided by several donors along with sounds by DJ Timbuktu and a special appearance by Lupe Fiasco himself.

In anticipation of the launch, Lupe’s welcome message of the foundation speaks volumes that mirrors its initiatives,

This is a contribution to positive youth development, resiliency and hope for Chicago youth. We are honored to give back to communities where greatness dwells. We subscribe to the African proverb “it takes a village to raise a child.”  We are obligated to nurture the genius of youth who live in the same communities from whence I came. We strive to be a relevant provider of quality programs that inspire youth to reach their highest potential as world influencers, artists and scholars. “

Tickets can be purchased at the House of Blues Chicago will call at 329 North Dearborn, Chicago, IL 60654 with a donation of $40.

All proceeds will be donated to The Lupe Fiasco Foundation and House of Blues Foundation.
