Condoleezza Rice To Appear On “30 Rock” TV Show
Condoleezza Rice To Appear On NBC Sitcom
Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will be making a cameo appearance on NBC’s hit show “30 Rock.”
“30 Rock” actress and writer Tina Fey, announced on Thursday that Rice will be playing Jack Donaghy’s ex-girlfriend. The character is a continuing reference to the first season when Jack Donaghy, played by Alec Baldwin, said he was dating a “high-ranking African-American member of the Bush Administration,” a reference to Rice as his girlfriend.
Fey said on the WNYC’s Leonard Lopate Show, “I’m going to make an executive decision that I’m allowed to talk about this. We have Condoleezza Rice coming up in a couple of weeks.”
Rice was the national security advisor and secretary of state during the Bush Administration. Although she was often times criticized in the Black community for her political views, Rice is the most successful African-American woman in the history of U.S. politics.
Since her tenure as secretary of state, Rice signed a $2.5 million three-book deal with Crown Publishers in 2009, and released the book Extraordinary, Ordinary People” A Memoir of Family, in October of 2010.
“30 Rock,” now in its fifth season, airs 9:30/8:30c on NBC.
