Teacher Reportedly Strikes Student With Hammer

A high school student in Hawaii required staples in his skull for a head wound he said was delivered by a hammer wielding teacher at his school.

The incident reportedly took place at Kailua High School during a woodshop period. Information is scarce, but the injured student is alleging that he was hit with a hammer thrown by the teacher. The high school senior says he was also kept at the health room for hours until they took him to the emergency room.

The teen’s parents are outraged that something like this couple happen at school and even more angered at the school’s response time.

“My son is a senior. I could be going to a funeral instead of a graduation this year. I just thank God he wasn’t seriously injured,” the student’s father Tim Bitanga told the local paper.

The teacher has been placed on administrative leave while the school investigates the events that took place in the classroom. The family has filed a police report.
