NFL Prepares For 8-game Season

With no end in sight to the NFL lockout, leagues owners and commissioner have begun planning for a shortened season.

According to reports, the league is looking at a scheduling an 8-game season that starts in November, based on a possible agreement that would end the lockout in October, and allow for free-agency period and training camp to begin.

An alternative 16-game schedule is also being looked at, where all byes and the week between the conference championships and Super Bowl would be canceled, in addition to pushing back the Super Bowl a week, that would allow the early scheduled games to be played at the end of the regular season.

Owners, players, league officials and especially the fans are still hoping for an uninterrupted 16-game season, but with the NFL lockout now nearing a 4-month point, the league is now taking a “just in case” look at the upcoming season.
