VH1‘s upcoming 1990’s Hip-Hop flick, The Breaks, isn’t set to make its debut until this winter, but the network rolled out a brief teaser clip to get viewers primed and ready. The movie features performances from The Wire alumni Wood Harris and Mack Wilds, along with Wu-Tang Clan star, Method Man.

Writer Dan Charnas examined the money side of the Hip-Hop industry in his 2011 book, The Big Payback: The History Of The Business Of Hip Hop. VH1 has ordered a TV movie pilot based on the book, and has the working title of The Breaks.

The Soundtrack Series, a live show and podcast that places a behind-the-scenes focus on music, kicks off a new show this Thursday (Nov. 21) at The Gallery at Le Poisson Rogue.
