Oprah Winfrey may have withdrawn from executive producing the documentary regarding the allegations against former Def Jam mogul Russell Simmons, but the film did debut at the Sundance Film Festival as scheduled to a standing ovation.

Oprah Winfrey is speaking out about her reasoning for removing her name from the upcoming #MeToo documentary aimed at Russell Simmons.

Oprah Winfrey was named as the executive producer for an upcoming documentary centered on the sexual misconduct allegations against Def Jam Records co-founder, Russell Simmons. Winfrey is pulling away from the project but did say in a statment that she believes the accusations are true.

Russell Simmons is increasingly becoming persona non grata, in certain circles. Uncle Rush has reportedly been banned from a yoga studio after numerous women have accused the Hip-Hop pioneer of sexual assault.

Russell Simmons has largely disappeared from the public eye after several allegations of sexual assault sprang forth in recent times. A recent dig made by an accuser claims the mogul is in Indonesia to avoid the charges, but Simmons essentially stated that the missive was essentially an attempt to squeeze money out of him.

One of the several women who has accused Def Jam Records co-founder Russell Simmons of rape has made an explosive claim. She believes the beleaguered business executive has traveled to Indonesia, not for spiritual enlightenment but to do duck charges in the ongoing case.

Russell Simmons says he couldn’t have raped anybody because he’s Team #MeToo. The Hip-Hop mogul is using his support of the movement in his response to a Jane Doe’s lawsuit that accuses him of sexual assault. 

Russell Simmons lost a legal battle this week after he attempted to get a lawsuit thrown out of court in relation to a 1988 case where a woman says he allegedly raped her. The lawsuit will proceed as planned next month, and the business mogul will face his accuser in court.

Russell Simmons, once one of the more celebrated business moguls of his era, has been dogged by allegations that he raped several women. A former Def Jam Records employee has joined the growing number of accusers, saying that Simmons raped her in 1995.

Russell Simmons is still fighting to keep a good name. In so the mogul is selling off his real estate holdings with Indonesia in his sights as his new abode.

Russell Simmons was hit with yet another accusation of rape, this time from the granddaughter of the notable book publisher, W.W. Norton. Alexia Norton Jones claims that in 1990, she and Simmons went out on a date and raped at the conclusion of their night out together.

Sil Lai Abrams, an author and domestic violence activist, dropped a pair of explosive allegations involving Russell Simmons and A.J. Calloway. In separate instances, Abrams claims both men sexually assaulted her, which they’ve both vehemently denied.
