In an interesting turn of events, Drake surprised attendees at a Sprite NBA All-Star event at the House of Blues in New Orleans with a hell of an announcement. According to the YMCMB rap star, Lil Wayne will release Tha Carter V on May 5.

Lil Wayne’s last album, the I Am Not A Human Being II, left much to be desired according to critics and fans. Tunechi’s next album, Tha Carter V, is on the way, but the plan is for the release date to be a surprise, sort of. 

Today comes with a a bit of great news for Lil Wayne fans. It looks like the veteran rapper will return with Tha Carter V in the near future.

Lil Wayne has a thing for sequels and the YMCMB rapper took to the new wave Hip-Hop press release center, Twitter, to announce his next mixtape. “Dedikation 4 komin next month,” tweeted the “My Homies Still” rapper today (July 22nd).
