Hip-Hop Wired has reported on several accounts of violence in the city of Chicago, and with the outbreaks occurring everyday, a young rapper is using his surroundings in hopes of attaining stardom. 13-year-old rapper Lil Mouse has released tracks full of bad language, glorifications of violence, and disrespect towards women (who he calls b-tches).

One of his songs, “Get Smoked,” grabbed more than 300,000 views on YouTube, and finds the teen degrading himself, and the craft he aspires to succeed in. “F-ck around and get smoked/I’m rollin’, all my n-ggas rollin’,” he raps. From there the youngster talks about doing drugs, and other activities. “Rollin off a pill, p-ssy bad it’ll kill, my n-ggas in the field, you might get killed…pancake a– n-gga I keep this sh-t real.”

TheGrio caught up with one of Mouse’s manager, Dough From Da Go, who brushed off the lyrics. “He has stuff like that. It’s just one song,”  he said.  “He does have other records. The music will speak for itself. He still has the mind frame of a kid. We are not going to follow in anyone’s footsteps though. We are going to break barriers.”

His music has drawn comparisons to that of Chief Keef, Lil Reese, and the late Lil JoJo, who was shot and killed days after a video of an altercation with the aforementioned Chicago rappers was posted online. JoJo’s murder remains unsolved, but Keef was looked at for potentially being involved after he tweeted jokes about his rival’s death.

In light of the shooting, and the debate over the content used by rap’s new school, Mouse is making a name for himself. Lil Wayne even featured him on his Dedication 4 mixtape, and is rumored to be signing him to Young Money.
