After only two official days on the job as American Idol judges, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey were already on bad terms, but it looks like the rift was just a rumor. Carey, and Minaj —separated by country singer, and fellow judge, Keith Urban—were interviewed about the first round of auditions, and blasted rumors of a disagreement.

“How we gonna feud in two days?” Carey responded to the alleged beef. “I think a feud takes a little longer to spread out.”

Less than a week into the audition process, things have been going pretty well, according to the songbird. “It’s fun it’s music, it’s singing, it’s laughter,” she added.

Carey was announced as the replacement for Jennifer Lopez, who left the show after two seasons, while Minaj was just recently confirmed as the newest member of the judging team. She reportedly signed an $8 million deal, far less than the $18 million that was given to Carey, who reigns as the top selling female artist of the millennium.

Working together on Idol won’t be the first collaboration for Carey and Minaj. The Young Money rapper jumped on the remix of Mimi’s single  “Up Out My Face”  off her Memories of an Imperfect Angel release.
