Four Kappas Charged With Shooting and Beating Pledges With BB Gun
Four members of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity have been charged with hazing several students at California State University.
According to reports by Southwest Bakersfield News, the Bakersfield Police Department public information officer Sgt. Mary DeGeare, stated that police began an investigation into a report of a felonious assault during fraternity pledge initiations, resulting in the following news story:
The report was initiated through Mercy Hospital when a 25-year-old man was admitted to the hospital as a result of his injuries.
The investigation revealed that between March 28 and April 25, four CSUB students were assaulted multiple times during numerous initiation ceremonies, during which they were beaten and shot at close range with a BB pistol, DeGeare said.
Four of the group’s members have been arrested.
Police are still searching for one additional person for which a warrant has been obtained.
