Stevie Wonder Celebrates 61st Birthday, Surprises Tulane Grads
Stevie Wonder Turns 61
Stevie Wonder is celebrating 61 years of life today and caused a celebration earlier this week when he gave an impromptu performance at a college campus.
The Grammy award winning singer was spotted at Tulane University Thursday where he was given an honorary degree during the school's commencement ceremony.
Instead of an acceptance speech however Stevie belted out his hit "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life" reports The Associated Press.
Nobel Laureate Walter Gilbert and journalist Cokie Roberts also received degrees Thursday while Pultizer Prize winning author Thomas Friedman was the commencement speaker.
On scene also was Michael White's Original Liberty Jazz Band and singer Topsy Chapman who performed "Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans,"with help from Wonder who pulled out his harmonica and played along.
Happy B Day Stevie!
