Nick Ashford Dies
1/2 of the legendary Motown singing duo Ashford and Simpson died Monday.
Reps for Nick Ashford confirm that the 70-year-old singer/songwriter passed away at a New York city hospital where he was undergoing treatment for throat cancer.
Ashford is noted for penning hits like “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “Aint’ Nothing Like The Real Thing” alongside Valerie Simpson, who later became his wife.
The news of his death was confirmed by the singer’s friend, music publicist Liz Rosenberg.
