Nicki Minaj Refuses To Come Back To Twitter, Now Talking Retirement [VIDEO]

File this under WTF. Nicki Minaj was over in the UK with Tim Westwood and the radio DJ made it a point of asking her if she would make a return to Twitter after she chucked the deuce at her 11 million followers. The YMCMB rapper seemed steadfast in her refusal to re-enter the Twitter matrix, despite Westwood’s pleas. “Tim, I can’t,” she said in a faux Brit accent, adding “I miss my Barbs, but I can’t come back. I just can’t Tim, don’t make me. Please don’t.”

Also while in the UK, Nicki told The Graham Norton Show that, “A voice in my head told me to delete my Twitter and that’s what I did.” Right.

Even with the 11 million followers she has/had on Twitter, only about 252,000 people copped Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded its first week in stores.  In comparison, her Pink Friday debut sold 375,000 copies it first week out back in November, 2010.

Also, besides stans thinking it’s the greatest album since sliced bread, it has been coolly received critically. Actually, plenty of people think it’s god awful. The YMCMB rapper has even said she is considering early retirement because of the negative feedback she has been receiving regarding her Pop aspirations. “This is my fourth mixtape really,” she told Westwood in her best Lil Wayne impersonation. “You know what I’m saying. The did did like that so she could feed her fans. But really, now the kid is thinking maybe she should leave the game.”

So does Nicki Minaj have a right to be peeved or is she overreacting to all the Pop/sell out chatter? Watch a portion of her chat with Tim Westwood below.

I think she’s terrible, but you can’t throw in words like “only” when talking about a quarter of a million albums. One, it’s unprofessional as a “journalist” to use words like that, and two, it’s not true. I fail to see how that is disappointing figure.

Yeah, as a journalist this article was written with much bias. Unless it was an opinion or editorial, which its not you shouldn’t really be mentioning things like “only” that much when in today’s industry that’s actually a good figure.

It is also important to note that the 11 million followers aren’t only from the US but around the world and heck a lot of them are international.

When your first album sold 375k, your second album selling (combined physical and digital copies) 250k really isn’t great. And for her to be talking retirement after a few bad reviews is just pathetic, she’s thirsty for attention
