There's a new pair of Adidas that are causing controversy. The sneaker company's  gray, purple and black JS Roundhouse Mids, feature chains which are said to  resemble  a slave shackles.

According to a post on Indie Wire, the chains and "shackles," which can be connected to the consumer's ankle, are racist. "I doubt this is what Run DMC envisioned when they rapped about their 50 pairs of Adidas way back when," read the post. "I'm trying to picture guys and gals strutting down the street with these on. I'm sure a dissertation could probably written about these, given the group that would most likely be seen wearing these."

On their Facebook page, the company has explained that the "shackles" are for those with "a sneaker game so hot you lock your kicks to your ankles."

The kicks drop in August. Click below to judge whether or not they're racially insensitive.

Well if they are racist, than I see a whole lot of slaves of all races going out buying these sneakers. Anyway handcuffing your sneakers to your ankles is not a good look.

As usual get these low-self esteem idiots to go along with any foolishness to make themselves look stupid and somebody else rich. This sneaker nonsense is the biggest commerical trick of all.Sneakers made in a foreign country for less than $2.00 by Brown people paid $.50 a day then hyped and sold to the Black community for $200. and up.Do the math!Actually have fools bragging "I got 10 pairs man, going to get the new ones coming Thursday"If they had any sense they would use those $ to buy stock in these companies and be a consumer with some control.

Racist? I doubt it. STUPID? Absolutely.

It's only racist if we're going off the *****umption that only Black people would buy these. I'm not racist but I will say that the only people getting bent out of shape about these are Black people who are slaves to consumerism and White people who want to appear politically correct because they feel guilty for what their ancestors did to Black slaves.

You don't see Japanese people going around complaining about how racist these shoes are. It's all a matter of perspective.

The shoes are stupid. They people who will buy them are stupid. They're only racist because people who want to make everything political are making them racist. Stop talking just to hear your own voices. Adidas only made these because they had a surplus of yellow plastic, laying around, that they wanted to put to use.
