It’s been a long time since Wyclef Jean, Pras and Lauryn Hill broke up the Fugees, yet all these years later they continue to intrigue us.

In this interview with Power 106’s “Big Boy In The Morning,” Wyclef spoke to the show about taking blame for the breakup of the group because of his love for Lauryn Hill.

“I’m sure he definitely blames me, you know what I’m saying? But if you go back to the old articles where Pras was like ‘yo, man Clef was the cancer of the Fugees,’ Wyclef told Big Boy on Power 106.

“At the time you have to understand his frustration, though.  YOu feel me? It was more like ‘you know I really wanted this thing to work and you shouldn’t have messed with the girl, matter of fact didn’t I warn you not to mess with the girl?” Clef said from Pras’ point-of-view.

“Fully looking back then, now as a man and looking back, I definitely take blame having fell for Lauryn at the time. But in my form or artistry and a lot of times we read these stories and we go and read whether its Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell, or even back in the days of mythology with Zeus and whoever he fell for you always think ‘no this is never going to happen to us.’ ”
