Lil B Blocked From Performing At The Grammys?

Lil B, one of Hip-Hop’s most polarizing figures, was part of a list of hopefuls to perform at this year’s Grammy Awards. But, it appears the Based God may have been banned from doing so.

After some hubbub regarding his inclusion on the Grammys-sponsored “Gig Of A Lifetime” contest list, the prolific Bay Area rapper’s name was unceremoniously removed this week.

The Daily Dot first reported on Lil B entering the contest by way of a scheme hatched by anonymous “hacktivist” group 4chan titled “Operation #BasedGrammys” – one of many such campaigns the group has engaged in over the years. Although Lil B was not going to take the main stage at the Grammys, the showcase would have spread his music to an even wider audience. But while the artist born Brandon McCartney was in second place in votes for the Pacific region, his name was removed from the list without explanation.

In typical “based” fashion, Lil B took to his popular Facebook page and thanks his legion of supporters for their unyielding support. “Thanks to every task force officer or b**tch mob task force or police who protect Lil B music and patrol basedworld daily to make sure there is no hate and protect Lil B music thank you,” wrote Lil B on his wall.

Although this won’t damper his immensely positive stance or his ever-growing popularity, someone out there isn’t ready for the entire world to become “based” apparently.
