TDE’s only Tennessee Titan, Isaiah Rashad couldn’t wait to announce to the Hip-Hop community that his new mixtape Cilvia would be entering the fray in 2014.

No worries, that is still definitely happening. His label just put an ixnay on that mixtape title and are deciding to release it as an EP.

It’s nothing new for the Top Dawg Entertainment crew who, even after signing to a major label, still operate as a fully functional independent label. Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.D. city got the props for being his big Interscope debut, but he released his Section.80 LP for purchase instead of free download like most rappers do before inking that contract.

It’s a move that makes a statement more so than dollars and Isaiah is looking to say the same thing.

He tells REVOLT TV’s DJ Damage that Civilia is indeed an EP and “You’re either going to love it or…whatever. It ain’t going to be something you dislike.”

The recent assumed offerings from the project in “R.I.P. Kevin Miller” and “Brad Jordan” have been well-received across the Internet so telling tall tales doesn’t seem to be in his repertoire.

TDE CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith stated that his regime will release six albums this year and although the newest member feels like he fits in the team nicely, don’t expect him to be as charged as the rest of labelmates.

“I’m pretty new to this but to continue growing and see as much as I can see,” Isaiah relayed to DJ Damage. “I’m try to bring the younger vibe back to them; they seasoned. Gotta mix it up some more.”
