Saul Williams Stars In Tupac Shakur Holla If Ya Hear Me Musical
Poet and actor Saul Williams will star in a musical this summer that will feature the works and is influenced by the music of Tupac “2Pac” Shakur. Despite reports Williams will be playing the slain rapper, it is instead a non-biographical story about two friends living in the Midwest.
The musical, Holla If Ya Hear Me, stars Williams who will play the character of John. Williams will be joined by Broadway veteran actors Chris Jackson as Vertus, Tony Award winner Tonya Pinkins as Ms. Weston, and Saycon Sengbloh as Corrine, among others. Holla If Ya Hear Me was written by Todd Kreidler and is directed by Kenny Leon, with choreography by Wayne Cilento.
