The degrees of separation between Atlanta rappers are angel hair thin so there are rarely any surprises even when the song drops out of nowhere.
Young Scooter and 2 Chainz have crossed paths in the past and they’re back together full circle to help usher in the forthcoming 80s Baby mixtape.
For the Chophouze-produced “Life Support,” the medical apparatus is used as a metaphor for the state of affairs the streets are supposedly in. Naturally, Scooter is the doctor and 2 Chainz is the consultant. Despite the typical subject matter, the street pharmaceutical record manages to get a pass for its musical flavor.
Between this jam and the previously released “New Young N***as,” 80s Baby is poised to be the hood’s soundtrack for the 4th of July. As long as no one gets shot, it’s a beautiful thing.
