PREMIERE: Ryshon Jones – “American Dreamless” [Video]

Ryshon Jones is the latest iteration of Philadelphia artists whose desire to spew truth-laden lyrics outweighs their lust for riches. Coming off of a solid run sparked by his Hope Is A Dangerous Thing project, the newcomer returns with a thoughtful video for one of the standout tracks, “American Dreamless.”

Scenes range from trippy to psychedelic, but this is a sensory experience that’s totally devoid of drugs. Instead, this is a visual interpretation of how it feels to listen to Jones’ music for the first time. Citing an eclectic palette of artists, including Kanye West and Radiohead, as influences, the 6’4” lyricist’s words are visually descriptive. This clip is but a bonus.

Jones has a wave of new material in the pipeline, including the You’re Safe Now EP, which will be accompanied by a short film of the same title. It features production from the up and comer, as well as Mac Miller and Soullness.

Following the EP, Jones will debut his Track Fifteen album next year.
