Chris Paul Might Boycott If Donald Sterling Isn’t Removed

Los Angeles Clippers team captain and NBA Players Association President Chris Paul is following his coach Doc Rivers in a potential boycott if Donald Sterling remains as owner by the start of the 2014-2015 NBA season.

“Something has to happen, and something has to happen soon–sooner rather than later,” Paul told ESPN as he coached his AAU program, CP3. “That’s something me and Doc are both talking about. We’re all going to talk about it. We’re all definitely going to talk about it. Doc, Blake [Griffin], DJ [DeAndre Jordan]. It’s unacceptable.”

Earlier in the week, Doc Rivers threatened to walk away from his head coaching and President Of Basketball Operations positions if Sterling was still seated in all his litigious glory.

In April, league commissioner Adam Silver banned Sterling for life but the heavy ruling still hasn’t prevented the 80-year-old billionaire from suing everyone within arms reach.

According to ESPN, there may be an issue with Sterling’s wife, Shelly’s move in selling the franchise without his proper consent. Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has agreed to buy the team for an astounding $2 billion.

If the sale of the Clippers isn’t concluded by September 15, the NBA will move forward with termination proceedings.
