Capt. Ron Johnson of the Missouri Highway Patrol, who flashed hand signs unknown to mainstream media, is actually a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, an Black fraternity established in 1911 at the Indiana University Bloomington.

Earlier this week, the Washington Post reported (and regretfully proved false) that Capt. Johnson threw up “gang signs” when posing for photos. According to the Post, the rumor originated in a CNN iReport that has since been removed (surprise, surprise).

The illustrious brotherhood is one of nine earliest Greek organizations (the National Pan-Hellenic Council) dedicated to the unity, education and positive forward movement of African-Americans.

This is what happens when you don’t hire enough Black people, CNN.
