It looks like Long Island wunderkind Harold Ekeh isn’t the only high school student being excellent this week. Munira Khalif of Minnesota was also accepted to all eight Ivy League schools as well, plus a few more top destinations.

According to an interview with local news outlet KARE 11, the Mounds Park Academy senior was also blessed to get nods from Stanford University, Georgetown University, and the University of Minnesota. Khalif, who has been recognized as a state speech champion and advocate for education for East African girls, is still processing the weight of her achievement.

More from KARE 11:

“I was very surprised. The best part for me was being able to call family members on the phone and to hear their excitement,” said Khalif. “This was truly a blessing from God. To me this news is reflective of the support and encouragement of my family, my school and my community.”

Mounds Park Academy says that in addition to a stellar academic record and a sky-high ACT score, Munira is a state speech champion and founder of MPA’s Social Consciousness Club. She is a tireless advocate to make education accessible for East African Youth, especially girls.

Khalif’s parents are Somali immigrants and have supported their daughter’s many aims. In a Star-Tribune profile last year, it was revealed that the then 17-year-old was an opponent of child marriage, and served on the advisory board for the United Nations “Girl Up” campaign. Khalif hasn’t decided where she’ll land for school, but intends to make a decision on May 1 after visiting more campuses.

Congrats to Munira Khalif!
