Gregory White probably regrets stretching his legs out on a New York City subway train on Thursday. After cops approached White for treating the MTA like his living room, a database scan of the man’s named linked him to a brutal January murder in Coney Island, Brooklyn.
White, 43, has been on eluding the police for nine months after the stabbing death of 58-year-old mother-of-four Victoria Hammond in her apartment. While relaxing on the A train, White’s freedom hung in jeopardy as the vehicle pulled into the Columbus Circle station.

White, 43, is now facing murder charges in the Jan. 24 killing of Victoria Hammond — who was stabbed two dozen times, officials said.
The alleged killer remained on the loose until 2:30 a.m. Thursday when cops found him, his rump on one seat and his leg and foot stretched out on the other, a police source said.
Officers were about to give White a summons for taking up more than one seat — a violation that comes with a $50 fine — when they realized he was wanted in Hammond’s murder, officials said.
White admitted to the grisly crime while being questioned at the 60th Precinct stationhouse and was charged with murder, according to authorities.
White had a few run-ins with the law, including this year when he was arrested Jan 5. for being atop a NYCHA building. White never showed up for a Feb. 26 court appearance.
